Flying & Gliding

Putting the ‘air’ in air cadets…

Cadets get the opportunity to fly the Grob 115E ‘Tutor’, which is used to train RAF personnel. These flights take place at one of 12 (Air Experience Flights) AEF’s which are located across the country. At 1378 (Mold) Squadron we mainly fly from 8AEF at RAF Cosford.

Opportunities to fly often happen on annual camps, or with progression cadets can be offered a prestigious and competitive flying scholarship.

These flying scholarships are normally completed at Tayside Aviation in Dundee, where cadets stay for 2 weeks and these scholarships usually culminate in a solo flight!
