Camps & Visits
Cadets often get the opportunity to visit RAF stations, these are known as annual camps, which offers them an insight into life in the RAF. These camps can include visits to specific RAF sections, in recent years cadets from 1378 have been to RAF Valley, RAF Cosford and RAFC Cranwell.
At 1378 (Mold) Squadron we run our own annual camp. Cadets camp near Bala lake and take part in a wide variety of water-sports activities, including kayaking and gorge walking all while developing vital skills such as leadership, teamwork and confidence – It’s a highlight in the squadron year!
If you are lucky enough to be selected, you could take part in the annual exchange programme known as IACE (International Air Cadet exchange). Cadets can fly to a number of different countries, including USA, Germany, France, Canada and Australia where cadets experience once in a life time opportunities and forge international friendships. In recent years cadets from 1378 (Mold) Squadron have been selected to go to Canada (IACE 2018) and Korea (IACE 2019).
